SELECT VEGAN DIFFERENCE
Plant-based proteins have weaker amino acid profiles compared to meat and dairy, making it difficult for vegans to get sufficient quality protein. The profile is especially important when it comes to getting enough protein in your diet for the purpose of growing muscle. Our research led us to a specific blend of proteins that closely matches the profile of dairy.
If you've tried plant-based proteins before, you have tasted their earthy tone and grainy mouthfeel. Select Vegan isn't just better than every other vegan protein you've tried, its in a league of its own. Our flavoring hits the spot, and the texture is the smoothest you'll find.
Select Vegan is free of lactose, making it the best choice for lactose intolerant individuals. It's non-GMO, soy-free, and we use no hemp, which causes significant gas and bloating. Select Vegan is naturally sweetened and flavored. All its ingredients are third-party tested for purity, and you can even check your own test results here!
Not All Protein is Created Equal
Eating a plant-based diet or a diet with certain restrictions can make it difficult to get in enough daily protein. Remember, it's not just how much protein you are getting, but the quality of that protein. A diet that is high only in things like collagen, nuts, wheat or beans could leave your true protein goals unmet.
Protein is scored using a measure known as biological value (BV). On a scale of 0-100 with 100 being the best, most animal protein sources score 90+, whereas beans and wheat come in the 50s. Pea and rice protein are some of the highest plant-based biological values, coming in around 70. We take this a step further by using a specific ratio of pea to rice to bring the total amino acid composition to closely mimic meat.
We avoid restrictive proteins like soy, which are avoided by most, as well as some of the new "trendy" protein sources with lots of marketing behind them, such as hemp or pumpkin seed. New doesn't always mean better, it usually just means new exciting marketing and advertising. Some of these, like hemp in particular, will leave you feeling bloated and gassy 6-8 hours after consuming.
Select Vegan is known for its amazing digestibility, and has become a staple in daily diets for those who wish to avoid dairy-based protein. You won't find a smoother, better tasting vegan protein than this! With all raw materials third-party tested, and protein content of every batch verified, you can trust in the best.
